City Police have issued the following statement about the transport crash on Highway 17b at Trunk Road.

As a result of the motor vehicle collision involving the transport trailer overnight, City Police would like to advise the public that there will be traffic delays in the area of Highway 17 East (B) where the new bypass meets Trunk Road.

The westbound lanes will remain open while the eastbound lanes will be closed.

The eastbound traffic will be intermittently allowed to proceed with police directing traffic at this location.

A crane will be utilized to remove the transport from the south side embankment of Trunk Road.

This will commence at approximately 11 a.m. this morning and may take two to three hours.

Please be extra cautious while driving in the area.
