Shortly after 4 p.m. yesterday, a 73-year-old man was picked by City Police in the downtown area and charged with assault.
His female victim, age 66, did not require medical attention.
Police say she was slapped by him following a verbal argument.
The man is due for a video court appearance today and he's expected to be in bail court tomorrow.
