Maxmillions will add an estimated five additional $1 million prizes

TORONTO - (May 29) - Ontario's Lotto Max players will have yet another huge jackpot to play for this week.

For the third time since the launch of Lotto Max in September 2009, the jackpot has rolled over to reach $50 million for the June 4, 2010 draw.

This means that the game will enter Maxmillions mode, which will add an estimated five additional $1 million prizes to the already substantial jackpot and increase the number of potential big winners across Canada.

"Ontario's Lotto Max players have won three jackpots, and this is another opportunity for someone in Ontario to win a big cash prize," said Wendy Montgomery, vice-president of lottery marketing at Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG). "What's really exciting though, is that in addition to the big jackpot, there are an estimated five more million dollar prizes available and that many more potential millionaires across Canada!"

The largest Lotto Max jackpot won in Canada on a single ticket was in October 2009 by a Manitoba resident.

The last time the jackpot hit $50 million in February 2010, the prize was split between two winning tickets - one in British Columbia and the other in Quebec.

For each $5 play, Lotto Max players receive three sets of seven numbers ranging from one to forty-nine.

When Maxmillions prizes are available, a Lotto Max ticket not only gives players a chance at the $50-million jackpot but also gives them a chance to win any of the $1-million Maxmillions draws on the same date!

Encore is also available on Lotto Max for $1.

Players can purchase tickets at authorized OLG retailers until 9 p.m. Friday, June 4 for the draw that evening.

OLG reminds its customers that group players should always identify each member with a signature on group play forms to confirm their contribution.

Group play forms are available at www.OLG.ca.

Customers are reminded to sign their tickets. Lottery retailers are unable to validate a ticket unless the customer has signed it.

Signature boxes located on the front of all lottery tickets make it easier for customers to remember to sign their tickets at the time of purchase.
