The OPP officer shot this morning in Southwestern Ontario is in "very grave" condition in London's Health Sciences Centre, OPP Commissioner Julian Fantino said this afternoon during a news conference.

Fantino said Const. Vu Pham, 37, was hit while attempting to stop a vehicle near the town of Seaforth.

The suspect was also shot and is being treated in another London hospital.

The wounded officer and his wife have three children aged 12, 10 and 7.

Pham is a 15-year-veteran of the OPP and formerly served in Northeastern Ontario with the Cochrane Detachment.
