Sunday at the Bondar tent, Saultites donned their red, white and green, and gathered to celebrate at the Italian Festival sponsored by the Elettra Society and the City of Sault Ste. Marie.

An afternoon of karaoke, featuring Sault Ste. Marie's own Super Mario (shown) was a big hit with the crowd.

Special guest star and Ward 5 Councillor Dave Celetti even got up to entertain (see photo 14).

The celebration was packed with fun events for the kids such as face painting, balloon artists Evelyn and Ken Anstice (photos 6 & 7), and clown-in-training entertainer Andrik Ludavicious (photos 7 & 25).

Nino Disano, (gallery photo 24) was out enjoying the festivities and the sunshine, and gave SooToday.com a fun language lesson in spirit of the festival.

"Questo festival è fantastico! Bellissimo! Molto Béné!"

"This festival is fantastic, wonderful; it's great!" he said.

Eccellenté!

Our friend Scratch, whom we met on Canada Day (see photo 3) also came down to check out the activities. This time, Scratch brought his family out to enjoy the celebration.

The many smiles both under the tent and out in the sunshine gave this event an upbeat and lively vibrance and colour.

Check out our photo gallery below to see the colourful crowd we captured today at the Italian Festival.
