SooToday.com received the following e-mail from Andre Dupont, emergency information officer with the Ministry of Natural Resources, at 4:02 p.m. this afternoon.
************************* Based on aerial observations by Kirk Dillabough this afternoon there is potential for localized flooding from ice jams forming near Grant's Landing.
This is a result of more solid ice from the mouth up to Grant's Landing.
The Goulais River was still within its' banks but there isn't much freeboard for rising water.
We are asking people in the area to be especially vigilant this afternoon and this evening.
These photos were taken by Kirk Dillabough.
