A Texan low pressure system is forecast to track northeastward toward the Great Lakes regions by Wednesday morning.

This system will bring significant snowfall to Central Ontario.

Snow is expected to begin Wednesday morning and continue into Wednesday night.

Total snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected for Manitoulin and the Nickel Belt by early Thursday morning.

5 to 10 cm snowfall amount are likely for Chapleau and kirkland regions.

Local drifting and blowing snow are also possible with the system reducing visibilities.

The snow will taper off to a few flurries or change to a few showers overnight Wednesday as the system moves further northeastward.

Environment Canada will monitor the development of this Texan low and its associated snow.

If it appears the snowfall amounts will exceed 15 centimetres within 12 hours, a snowfall warning will be issued.
