The 92nd annual National Day of Remembrance ceremony took place today to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom.

The 92nd annual National Day of Remembrance ceremony took place today to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom.

Participants marched from the cenotaph on Queen Street to the Essar Centre where a formal ceremony included addresses by the office of the mayor, represented by Steve Butland, and Comrade Andre Paquette, 1st vice-president Ontario Command, The Royal Canadian Legion.

This year's Silver Cross Mother was Donna Crosson, mother of Sgt. John Wayne Faught who fell in the line of duty in Afghanistan on January 16, 2010.
