VIDEO: 26 Railroad motorcars

These replaced the manually powered pump cars used for rail maintenance

26 'railroad motorcars' from the North American Railcar Operators Association came through the Sault on Thursday.

These types of vehicles have a top speed of 48 kph and were designed to be used for track maintenance, originally replacing the manually powered pump cars of bygone eras.

Since replaced in favour of Hy-Rail vehicles, recreational owners took a trip along the Huron Central Railway with them this week.

More information and a photo gallery of these railroad motorcars will follow.
