************************* Six new forest fires over the weekend
Training and orientation for fire personnel ongoing
There are currently two active forest fires in the region.
Both of these fires are within the Sudbury district and no problems are anticipated.
Fire rangers continue to focus on training and proficiency exercises across the East Fire Region.
Pump setup, hose lay training, hover exit certification, and first aid are a few of the courses and exercises fire fighters have been involved in.
Under the Forest Fires Prevention Act of Ontario day burning of brush or grass is not allowed.
You may start a fire no sooner than two hours before sunset and it must be put it out no later than two hours after sunrise.
Choose a safe site, keep the fire small and never leave it unattended.
Remember to ensure the fire is put dead out before leaving the site.
