A number of interesting critters have been spotted in various locations around Sault Ste. Marie as of late.

The shot of cedar waxwings above was submitted by faithful SooToday.com reader D. Breckenridge.

"There seems to be an unusually large number of cedar waxwings around this winter," wrote Breckenridge. "These little beauties were sitting in a tree in our east end neighbourhood."

Both Rita Varcoe Slater and Dan Schmidt submitted photos of what appears to be a bobcat hanging around the Doncaster Road, Farwell Terrace area.

Slater assured us that she is not the individual feeding the bobcat and she makes sure to keep a safe distance when snapping photos of the feline.

"I went into my back yard today and found a bobcat hanging out at the back fence," said Schmidt. "Not something you see everyday, and especially on Farwell Terr."

And Lyyli MacDonald has had a barred owl hanging around her Carpin Beach Road home for about a month.
