************************* Obstructing a police officer

A seventeen-year-old male youth was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service at 3:17 a.m. this morning on Canal Drive and charged with two count of breach of probation and one count of obstruct peace officer.

It is alleged that around 2:40 a.m. this morning, officers on patrol checked four males in the area of the locks and at the time the accused falsely identified himself.

Through further investigation officers were able to determine the identity of the accused and discovered that he was on a probation order with curfew conditions to be in his place of residence from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. and further, he was to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

He is to attend in court on the 5th of October.

************************ Mischief reports

- The Fisheries and Oceans Property on Canal Drive reported a large amount of graffiti and several signs were damaged over the past weekend. - Windows of vehicles were smashed on Connaught and Labelle Avenue.

************************ Residence break and enter - A residence in the 200 block of Tilley Road was entered sometime over the past weekend. A 37-inch Samsung television, an Xbox and other miscellaneous items were reported stolen.

************************ Theft reports

- Vehicles were entered in the 600 block of Old Goulais Bay Road, Braemar Bay and Palace Drive. A purse, a wallet and a canvass bag with bingo items were reported stolen.

- Gas was reported stolen from vehicles on Root Rover Park.

- Vinyl flooring was reported stolen on London Street.

************************ Theft under $5,000

Forty-year-old Deborah Marino of 682 (rear) Albert Street West was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service yesterday afternoon around 12:09 p.m. at the Station Mall and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.

It is alleged that yesterday just before noon, the accused attended at five stores in the mall and stole several items.

She was apprehended by mall security and held for police.

She is to attend in court on the 4th of October.

************************ Theft under $5,000

Twenty-nine-year-old Johanna Leveille was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service yesterday afternoon at 3:10 p.m. at Zellers on Northern Road and charged with one count of theft under $5,000 after she allegedly attended at the store at around 2:39 p.m. and stole a pair of sunglasses.

She is to attend in court on the 4th of October.
