1:39 p.m. update on East End stabbing

The following news release was issued by City Police at 1:39 p.m. today.

The 17-year-old suspect cannot be named under Ontario's Youth Criminal Justice Act.

In the case of the 19-year-old suspect, the information has not been laid at this point so the name will not be released until tomorrow morning.

*********************** City Police are continuing their investigation into a stabbing that occurred around 4:30 a.m. this morning.

City Police attended in the area of Boston Avenue and Breton Road regarding this incident.

A 23-year-old female remains in the Sault Area Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

A 19-year-old male and a 17-year-old youth were taken into custody this morning and are in the process of being remanded to appear in bail court tomorrow morning.

The offenders and victim are known to each other.

Officers from Investigation Services are continuing their investigation and are interviewing a number of persons.
