But with local movie extras getting coiffed, make-up'd and awaiting their turn to be part of Edwin Boyd, the latest film production to set up shop in the Sault.

Those hoping for their chance at stardom included Anne Sarich, Fred Real, Aldo Deluca, Brent Cahill, Maureen Henderson, Jonathan Farrell, Isaiah Sawchyn, Sara D'Amelio, Martin James, Kylie Kozak and Michel Kuisma.

Directed by Nathan Morlando and set in 1949, the film chronicles the notorious escapades of Canadian bank robber and aspiring silver screen star Edwin Alonzo Boyd.

Scott Speedman (Felicity, Underworld) is currently in the Sault to star as Boyd.

The production also features Kevin Durand (Lost, Robin Hood, X-Men Origins - Wolverine), Kelly Reilly (Sherlock Holmes) and Brian Cox (X-Men 2, The Bourne Identity and Supremacy, Deadwood).

Local liaison Rosalie Chilelli told SooToday.com that the film production will bring an estimated $3.1 million to Sault Ste. Marie during it's five-week shoot.

Morlando collaborated with Boyd himself on the film's script.

Unfortunately, Boyd passed away in 2002 at the age of 88 and will not be able to finally see his name in lights. ///
