“The Wheels of Hope Program is an amazing program that we offer in our community. We are able to take some of the burden off of families facing cancer by providing a service in which volunteers take cancer patients to and from their cancer related appointments in and out of town. The costs associated with travelling, and loss of time at work can be overwhelming to cancer patients and their families and we are proud to say that the Canadian Cancer Society can take on some of that burden by helping our clients get to their appointments” says Catherine Grady, Transportation Coordinator for the Algoma Canadian Cancer Society.
Northside Auto Group’s donation to the Wheels of Hope program has surpassed fundraising goals and is truly a company that wants to give back to this community.
“With the money raised from the Northside Auto Group Charity Golf Classic, we are able to provide over 38,000 km of travel to cancer patients and their families,” explains Lori McDonald, Fundraising Coordinator with the Canadian Cancer Society. “Events like these truly do make a difference in our community and we are so grateful to be the recipient charity of this amazing event.”
