************************* Friday April 24 CASS update

The Algoma District School Board (ADSB) once again assures staff, students and parents that operations at Central Algoma Secondary School (CASS) are continuing as usual today, Friday April 24, following an incident that required the school to be on alert for part of the day yesterday.

ADSB Director of Education Mario Turco spoke on behalf of the board:

“We have been in constant contact with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) yesterday and today regarding this matter.

"Any threat – alleged or otherwise – is taken very seriously by the board.

"The safety of all students and staff is always foremost and so I’m pleased with the actions taken by both police and the school board staff yesterday.

"We’re confident that this situation has been reviewed thoroughly by police and we’re pleased that it has been dealt with appropriately.”
