VIDEO: Stylish snips for some deserving kids

'We're donating our skills instead of gifts or products to help these kids out and send them back to school with some fresh cuts. I think giving back to the community should be number one'

Nothing says "first day of school" like a fresh haircut. Unfortunately, not every student can afford to visit a professional stylist.

Which is why Karen Hurley-Melcher, a case worker at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sault Ste. Marie, reached out to Identity Hair Salon for some help.

Owner Franco Cuglietta was more than happy to accommodate, organizing free haircuts for a group of students heading back to class.

"We're donating our skills instead of gifts or products to help these kids out and send them back to school with some fresh cuts," Cuglietta said. "I think giving back to the community should be number one, and any other organizations that would like to get involved with something like this, please feel free to reach out and give us a call."
