VIDEO: An exclusive sneak peek at how Muio's became Ojas

'As the saying goes, nothing is permanent but change': Co-owner of new Asian fusion restaurant downtown says customers can expect a bit of nostalgia combined with a fresh new menu

Last week, a lot of local residents watched with sadness as the old Muio's sign was removed from the landmark building downtown.

As SooToday reported, the iconic Muio's letters will live on at a new location.

Closed for nearly three years, the downtown site now has a new tenant: Ojas, a plant-based restaurant that specializes in Asian fusion cuisine.

SooToday spent some time this week with co-owner Surendra Kumar Bansal, who gave us a sneak peek of what diners can expect when the new restaurant opens later this week.

“As the saying goes, nothing is permanent but change," he says. "I think the building and this location needs a fresh energy and a fresh look and maybe a fresh concept, where people can cherish their memories as well as enjoy the new concept and the new dishes.”
