This coming August, the Old Town Concert Series will host its 23rd annual performance series in Hilton Beach on St. Joseph Island. Joining the long list of acclaimed past performers that includes the likes of Michael Kaeshammer, Amy Sky and Marc Jordan, Susan Aglukark, Jeff Healey, and Oliver Jones are this year’s featured acts – Good Lovelies on Aug. 1, the Suzie Vinnick Band on Aug. 8, and Kellylee Evans on Aug. 15.

Season ticket passes that include all three concerts are $90 each. Individual concert tickets are available for $37.50 each. Tickets are available now at oldtownhall.ca with instant e-mail delivery of tickets. Alternatively, tickets can be purchased at the Hilton Beach Municipal Office, or by mail using the offline order form.

The series is held at the Hilton Beach Community Hall, "the littlest big concert hall in the north", which makes for up-close and intimate performances with a capacity of just 250. Opportunities to meet the performers and get CDs autographed frequently follow the concert.

About The Good Lovelies

The Good Lovelies are quickly becoming a household name in Canada and around the world. This Juno-winning trio have covered plenty of stylistic ground, with tinges of pop, roots, jazz and even hip-hop added to their country folk core. Their fourth studio album, Shapeshifters, just came out in February to widespread accolades.

Kerri Ough, Sue Passmore, and Caroline Brooks are immensely talented vocalists and songwriters in their own right; however, it’s their voices interwoven in harmony that elevates this trio from impressive to peerless.

The Edmonton Journal writes: "In a day when the too-hip-to-be-happy alt-country crowd churns out verse after verse of dark, bar-fly banalities, Caroline Brooks, Sue Passmore and Kerri Ough opt for a sound that is like a sonic sunshower."

The Good Lovelies will perform on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 7 p.m.

About Suzie Vinnick

Suzie Vinnick, a 10-time Maple Blues Award winner, a three-time Juno Award nominee, and has been called one of the greatest voices in Canada.

Her gorgeous, soaring, and soulful vocals effortlessly blend blues, folk, pop and country to inevitably have her compared to a young Bonnie Raitt. With her personal and heartfelt original lyrics and playful stage presence, Suzie Vinnick has been a favourite of audiences across the world.

When she isn't performing as a member of The Marigolds with Caitlyn Hanford and Gwen Swick, Suzie Vinnick is recording and performing with her own band. Her sixth solo album, Shake the Love Around, was just released in March to widespread praise and airplay.

The Suzie Vinnick Band will perform on Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 7 p.m.

About Kellylee Evans

Kellylee Evans, a Juno-winning soul pop vocalist, makes her inevitable return to the Old Town Hall Concert Series this summer. When Kellylee last visited the Island in 2012, she was riding high on a blossoming career and a Juno Award for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year for her album Nina.

Kellylee's career was put on hold the following year, however, when she was struck by lightning while washing the dishes in her Ottawa home.

Following a years-long recovery, Kellylee returned to singing to release her fifth album, Come On, in Canada in October 2017. This funky Motown album was nominated for the 2018 Juno Award for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year.

A sensitive, honest, and - evidently - resilient performer, Kellylee Evans' rich, soulful voice and brilliant lyrics embrace all forms of music – soul, jazz, pop, country, hip hop and classical.

Kellylee Evans will perform on Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 7 p.m.
