Formed as a wedding gift in 2000 to perform at a friend's Stag and Doe, popular Sault rock band Spiderback had big plans for the future.

Craig West, Mike Robillard, Dwayne Slack and Chris Suraci wrote numerous originals and gigged on a regular basis for about one year.

The plan was to record a demo of their best material and see where it took them.

Slotted for inclusion on the record were two songs just as good as, if not better than anything heard on the radio at the time, Turn It Over and Big American Sound.

Unfortunately, both Slack and Suraci left town before the album came to fruition.

Although the four original members have not played together since 2001, the band never technically broke up.

There was no good-bye gig and no sense of closure for the four-peice rock outfit.

At the Bottom's Up Lounge (280 Queen Street East) on December 26 and 27, Spiderback will be reuniting for two shows of loud rock n' roll.

And that will be the end.

"We never had a proper demise," says Criag West. "That's the purpose of these shows. We're gonna get together to break up."

The set list will be comprised of 50/50 covers and originals including three songs the band wrote but never performed in front of a live audience.

Opening for Spiderback will be ex-Relinquish front man, Luke McCullough.

The show kicks off both nights at approximately 10 p.m.
