Full text of a news release issued by the West End Theatre Project follows:

West End Theatre Project presents 'Sister Act', the first show in the 2022 season. Lucas Beaver will helm the production with Rony Dal Cin as music director and Nancy Kinney as vocal director. The stage management team will be led by Kristine Thomas and include Betty Currie, Trudy DeGraw and Candice Withers. Valerie Pluss will produce for West End Theatre Project.

'Sister Act' is the feel-good musical comedy smash based on the hit 1992 film that has audiences jumping to their feet! Featuring original music by Tony and eight-time Oscar winner, Alan Menken (Newsies, Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors), this uplifting musical was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

When disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won't be a found – a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community but, in doing so, blows her cover. Soon, the gang is giving chase, only to find them up against Deloris and the power of her newly found sisterhood.

Filled with powerful gospel music, outrageous dancing and a truly moving story, 'Sister Act' will leave audiences breathless. The cast is chock full of amazing roles for women of all ages and men.

Auditions are open to local performers aged 16+ and will be held at Algoma's water Tower Inn on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021 at 12 p.m., and on Monday, Nov. 29, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. Attendees are asked to pre-register and prepare a song from the list provided on the West End Theatre Project's website where they will also find additional audition and casting information including links to sheet music and the audition packet.

Tickets for 'Sister Act' will be available in December at the Sault Community Theatre Centre Box Office online.

Stay tuned for future announcements regarding casting and ticket sales.
