When they're not backing Ronnie Hawkins as the Hawks, the four seriously talented, seriously dapper and seriously funny young men that appeared at Loplops Friday night are known as the Weber Brothers.

They succeeded in keeping a good portion of the chairs empty for most of the night as the dancers in the audience happily fell victim to their dynamic blend of old school rock, blues and rockabilly.

The band's influences are evident in the covers by Bo Diddley, the Grateful Dead, Stevie Wonder and Bob Dylan chosen to compliment the Webers' own masterfully written material.

"We really like Bob Dylan, so we want to do one of his songs for you," said Ryan Weber as he segued into Dylan's Oxford Town.

"We felt it could use some improvement."

This was the third appearance in Sault Ste. Marie for Sam Weber, Ryan Weber, Jeff Webster and Shane Pinchen, and rumour has it they will be returning in a few months.

They're a band of sharp suits, hair products and live in fear of the angry clown.
