Two Sault bands will celebrate the release of debut CDs coming this October.

On Saturday, October 11, Loplops Gallery-Lounge (651 Queen St. E.) will host Al Wood and the Woodsmen as the band honours the launch of Mood Swingin' Blues.

The 13-track album, recorded in Ottawa's Metropolitan Studios, spans the blues genre from traditional, to Chicago style to swing.

Themes of love, regret and leaving the past alone permeate the record as Wood's prowess on the harmonica threads it all together.

The show gets under way at 9:30 p.m. as Wood is joined on stage with the Sault version of the Woodsmen, Frank Deresti, Lindsay Pugh and Cliff Alloy.

Visit Al Wood's newly constructed website at www.alwoodmusic.com to learn more.

Then, Friday, October 17 will see the local boys of Honeythroat take Loplops' stage to commemorate the release of Greatest Hits.

Don't let the name fool you.

This is actually the band's first release.

Comprised of Mark "Sir Rubberface" Kuntsi, James "Earl of Chops" Case, "Count" Ed Young and "Lord" Lindsay Pugh, Honeythroat will kick the night off at 9 p.m. as they perform the album in its entirety.

Each band member will then do a short solo set, shortly followed by another full band set of tried and true fan favourites.

Presented by Fisherman's Friends, admission to this show is $5.

Tickets are available now at Loplops, Dish (740 Queen St. E.), the Rad Zone or from any band member.

Your $5 ticket entitles you to $5 off any item from the band's merch table.
