Try your hand at African hand drumming

The Yoga Door is offering Sacred Beat - a beginner's course in African hand drumming. "Experience the beat of the drum as sacred meditation while learning basic rhythms and hand drum skills," states the course description at TheYogaDoor.com .

The Yoga Door is offering Sacred Beat - a beginner's course in African hand drumming.

"Experience the beat of the drum as sacred meditation while learning basic rhythms and hand drum skills," states the course description at TheYogaDoor.com.

No experience is necessary and the some drums will be made available to students for the lessons.

Drummer teacher Paul Annette will be leading the course.

Classes will be held Saturday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., starting on January 20 and running to Febuary 10.

The registration fee is $51.

The Yoga Door will also be offering Belly Dancing.

"This is sure to be the most fun you ever had toning the abs!" states the course description.

Katie Campbell will be instructing this course.

Belly Dancing runs Friday evenings from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., starting January 19.

The course fee is $70.
