After eight years of over-the-top underclass hi-jinx, the Trailer Parks Boys are being evicted on Sunday, December 7, 2008.

Ricky, Julian and Bubbles will join the rest of the Sunnyvale Trailer Park rascals to bid a raucous farewell during the hour-long Showcase television special Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys.

Mike Clattenburg, creator of the Trailer Park Boys, wrote on the Showcase blog Wednesday:

"Over the past few months there has been a lot of discussion among our fans and those in the media about the future of Trailer Park Boys. Will there be another season, another special, another movie? The last thing we want to do is keep our loyal fans in the dark about the show we have all loved doing for the past eight years, so we’d like now to shed some light.

"We have a final one hour television special, Say Goodnight To The Bad Guys, which goes to air on Showcase on Sunday, December 7, 2008. Then after that, our sequel movie, Countdown To Liqour Day (working title), is due to be released in Canadian theatres in October, 2009.

But, after that, there will be no more. Yes, it’s the end of Trailer Park Boys. Our fans have been so supportive and inspiring that we wanted you to be the first to know. Much love and thanks from all of at Sunnyvale Trailer Park."

An immediate cult hit since it first aired in 2001, the low-budget Halifax-based mockumentary series airs across Canada, Austrailia, the UK, Spain, Ireland, Iceland, New Zealand, Isreal, the Netherlands, Denmark, Portugal, Germany, Finland, Poland, and Bulgaria.

The three main characters, Ricky, Julian and Bubbles make numerous public appearances, have toured with Our Lady Peace and Guns N' Roses, and hosted the 2006 East Coast Music Awards where Bubbles performed his own composition Liquor and Whores.

The trio are scheduled to perform in Toronto's Massey Hall in January 2009 as they present The Ricky, Julian and Bubbles Community Service Variety Show.
