STUDIO DANCE ARTS

*************************
Local young performer, 14-year-old Alexandria McCauley, daughter of Dr. Gene and Carolyn McCauley, recently auditioned for and was accepted into the prestigious Interlochen Academy of Fine Arts located in Michigan.

Alexandria is an actor, singer, and dancer.

She recently finished performing in the Sault Symphony’s Hello Dolly.

Alexandria prepared a video audition for Interlochen’s Musical Theatre Production program.

Audition requirements included 2-16 bar excerpts from two songs with accompaniment, one up-tempo, one ballad, a monologue from a published play or musical, and a dance.

Alex has been training with Studio Dance Arts faculty member Kahlil Calder in dance, as well as Agnes McCarthy, Paul Dingle and Sandra Forsell for voice and acting.

The intensive summer program will culminate with students performing a 3-performance run of the production of “Oliver!” By Lionel Bart.

Interlochen considers thousands of applicants from more than 50 countries each year.

This summer, they will welcome more than 2,500 exceptional young artists to their summer programs.

Students will study with world-renowned faculty, be surrounded by hundreds of dedicated peers, and attend exciting performances and presentations.
