Saturday

Sault Ste. Marie - Family Swim

Come and join Autism Ontario for a fun filled afternoon of swimming in Sault Ste. Marie at the YMCA! Families will have the pool to themselves for 1.5 hours, and have a chance to swim and meet other families. Parents are to accompany and assist their children at this event. Time of event will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Life jackets will be available for use.

Puppy Play and Learn

Have a new puppy? Interested in getting your new puppy out to meet other puppies in a safe environment? Then this is the class for you! This class is for puppies 10 weeks to 20 weeks and takes place at the Sault Ste. Marie Kennel Club from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Your puppy will build confidence, learn bite inhibition, handling exercises, socialization with other pups and people, learn household etiquette, sit, settle and come when called all using positive reinforcement. This new and exciting Play and Learn Class is for puppies with the first two sets of vaccinations. Cost is $20/class and classes are one-hour long. Contact the Sault Ste. Fall Harvest Sale

You are invited to attend the last outdoor market for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Rich-Zest Foods - One day only - Saturday, Oct. 12 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., 144 Walnut St. Soo, ON. Local farm fresh veggies including carving pumpkins and pie pumpkins including homemade fresh baked assorted pie, dill pickles, pickled beets, preserves, jam and jelly. Watkins black pepper, vanilla and cinnamon for your cooking/baking needs. St. Joe's Island maple and more!

Robertson Cliffs Hike Hosted by Sault Naturalists

Fall colours and spectacular vistas atop the cliffs are the big features for this hike. We’ll check out the waterfalls on the way down as well. The hike is a 6 km loop (3.7 miles) with a long uphill grind to the top. Bring a lunch, water and sturdy hiking boots. The trailhead begins about 33 km (20 mi) north of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Meet Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and contact leader Jeff Robinson [email protected] for details. No pets allowed. Algoma Autism Foundation Trunk or Treat

Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. visit Trunk or Treat with The Algoma Autism Foundation and Northwood Funeral Home for their fourth annual Trunk or Treat event. Trunk or Treat is a fun, interactive event for children with special needs and their siblings to experience the fun of Trick or Treating that is also non-threatening and accessible. Stuff-A-Trunk: For participating in this free event please bring a donation of one of the following items; perishable foods, socks, women’s products, toothbrushes, toothpaste, infant items, etc. to help our local soup kitchen.

Meadowview Alpaca Farm Fibre Fest

Join Meadowview Alpaca Farm for their Fibre Fest Open House on Oct. 14 from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. The afternoon will include: The amazing race obstacle course, needle-felting and hand-spinning demonstrations, the opportunity to visit their shearing shed, local produce and yarns from your local farmer and Thanksgiving dinner at the Rydal Bank Community Hall. Admission is free!
