There's no such thing as too much Munsch (photos)

The Korah Collegiate theatre was teeming with young children shouting, jumping and running around on Saturday afternoon. And it was OK. In fact, it was encouraged.
The Korah Collegiate theatre was teeming with young children shouting, jumping and running around on Saturday afternoon.

And it was OK.

In fact, it was encouraged.

All of this chaos was due, of course, to Robert Munsch's exuberant story telling during his Algoma Fall Festival visit.

The best-selling children's author shone in front of a sold-out audience as he delivered an hour of his beloved stories, including No Clean Clothes, Stephanie's Ponytail, Mortimer and Love You Forever.

Every request for a volunteer was met with hundreds of tiny little hands waving in the air.

A few children even raised their hands when Munsch asked for a "big, ugly father" to play the part of the dragon during his telling of The Paper Bag Princess.

Afterwards, children with parents in tow waited an hour or more to have their newly purchased Munsch favourites signed by Canada's oldest, most famous child.

None of the kids were dressed in paper bags.

Some of them may have been named Mortimer.

All of them will be loved forever.

The Barra MacNeils perform Sunday evening at the Kiwanis Community Theatre Centre as the finale to this season's Algoma Fall Festival.
