St. Joseph Island Maple Syrup Stampede takes place at 3670 5th Side Road, Jocelyn Township, St. Joseph Island from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is for all ages and includes 2km and 7km classic ski races, and a 14km skating race. Entry includes lunch. Awards for top finishers and prize draws.

The 2015 Bon Soo Winter Carnival includes bum slides, pony rides, dog pull competitions, Jam Can curling, and a tribute to Taylor Swift. Full event details at www.bonsoo.on.ca

Saturday Art for kids aged 6 to 12 years at the Art Gallery of Algoma from 10 a.m. until noon runs until February 21. Cost is $80 for members and $90 for non-members.

Galaxy Cinemas in the Station Mall will screen Big Miracle at 11 a.m.

Art Club for kids aged 3 to 5 years at the Art Gallery of Algoma from 1 to 2 p.n. runs until February 21. Cost is $60 for members and $70 for non-members.

The Elks Lodge, 216 Bay St., hosts live entertainment from 2 to 7 p.m.

Frank Deresti and the Lake Effect perform at Searchmont Resort from 3 to 6 p.m.

Stuart Waite with Ron Schryer play a matinee at Misty’s 50s Bar and Grill, 658 Second Line, from 4 to 8 p.m.

Sault Search and Rescue presents a night of Yuk Yuk’s comedy at the Comfort Suites on Great Northern Road starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at Madonna Optical in the Station Mall. Call 705-759-5878 for more information.

White Pines OnStage presents Golly Gee Whiz at the Kiwanis Community Theatre Centre at 7 p.m.

Down Home Music plays a dance at the Moose Lodge, 543 Trunk Road, from 8 to 11 p.m.

The Jack Pine Trio performs at the Water Tower Pub, 360 Great Northern Rd., starting at 9 p.m.

The Reptiles play the OLG Charity Casino from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Coverfly performs at the Esquire Club, 102 Second Line West, starting at 9:30 p.m.

Mourning Wood plays Reggie’s West, 306 Korah Rd., from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

Tym Morrison plays the The Harp, 701 Pine St., from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Changing Lanes will play Loplops, 651 Queen St. East. Show time is 10 p.m.

Thin Ice performs at the Rockstar Bar, 864 Queen St. East, starting at 10:30 p.m.
