Music, Poetry and Spoken Word for Haiti at 7 p.m. at Algoma U's Shingwauk Theatre features guest speaker Pastor Cebien Alexis, and local artists and musicians. All Proceeds will be donated to Partners in Health.

The Grand Theatre, located at 641 Queen Street East, will screen Empties at 8 p.m. Admission is $7 (plus tax) at the door. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Galaxy Cinemas in the Station Mall presents, live from the Metropolitan Opera, an encore performance of Offenbach's Les Contes d'Hoffman at 1 p.m. Tickets are available at the Galaxy Box Office.

The main branch of the Sault Public Library will screen Public Enemies (rated 14A) at 2 p.m.

Manulife Walk for Memories is an indoor walk to raise funds for the Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District. The event takes place at White Pines, 1007 Trunk Road. Registration is at 12:30 p.m. with the walk beginning at 1p.m. Refreshments, prizes and fun for the entire family.

The main branch of the Sault Public Library will screen The Skeptic (rated 14A) at 2:30 p.m. Admission is free. Please bring your own snacks.

Algoma International Film Association will screen Departures at 7 p.m. at Galaxy Cinemas in the Station Mall. Tickets available at the Galaxy mall entrance prior to the screening.

Tyson Hanes and Kyle Riel perform at the Steamy Bean Coffee Company, 357 Great Northern Road, from 8 to 10 p.m.

@ the Movies: Extraordinary Measures, Legion, The Tooth Fairy and so much more at Galaxy Cinema, Station Mall.
