First Ride! If your child is starting school you can bring them to Station Mall Centre Court to see the school bus up close. You can even go for a bus ride together and take pictures so they'll know what to expect on the first day of school. 10 to 2pm (Fri and Sat)

The Big Brothers Association Summer Cruise aboard the Chief Shingwauk. Tickets are $25 per person, cash bar & snacks available. Boat leaves at 8:30 pm, and returns at 10:30 pm. There will be a bus to Loplops following the cruise for live entertainment. All proceeds to the local Big Brothers Association. Can Am Salmon Derby starting @ 7am. Hosted by St. Joseph's Island Hunters and Anglers Association. Registration at Dock's Waterfront Grill on August 25 from 6-9 pm. Entry fee is $75 per person. Call for more info 246-2507

Saulteaux Voyageur Trail Club Hike the Desbarats Trail with Dieter and Erika (942-9636). Meet Churchill Plaza Beer Store at 9:30am. Potluck supper to follow hike. Behaved pets OK!

Garage Sale at the Humane Society! 962 Second Line East. Donations of household items, soft cover book, and collectibles accepted. Please no clothes. This garage sale will help purchase food and supplies for the pets at the shelter.

Meet the Artist Zoey Wood-Salomon will be at Roses Art Gallery launching her new book called "Healing Through Art". Zoey will be available to discuss her techniques, inspirations and elaborate on the stories embedded in her poetry. Sponsored by a grant from the Ontario Arts Council. Saturday 10 to 4pm. The BEST Collection @ the AGA (runs until September 9, 2006) This exhibition of Canadian and international work was donated by Dr. Ray Best, formerly of Sault Ste. Marie and currently living in Windsor. The collection includes work by Jacob Epstein, one of the most influential sculptors of the twentieth century, a Salvador Dali, a pen and ink drawing by 18th century Italian artist Jacopo Amigoni and several works by Group of Seven members including an A.Y. Jackson from the 1920's and an A.J. Casson.
