“Dining For The Arts” May 6 - May 10

SAULT STE. MARIE - Choosing where to dine out in the Sault just got a little easier.

Theatre SMC invites everyone to abandon your kitchens to come out and support the Theatre Ontario Festival 2012.

“Dining For The Arts” begins on Sunday, May 6 and continues through Thursday, May 10 at a number of the Sault’s top eateries.

It’s dinner as usual for these locally owned and operated restaurants, but with the added benefit of supporting the arts with each dinner purchased.

A portion of all dinner receipts (5pm - 9pm) will go towards supporting the festival.

It’s this easy to give to the arts.

Sunday, May 6: Embers Grill and Smokehouse (476 Queen Street East)

Monday, May 7: Solo Trattoria (250 Queen Street East)

Tuesday, May 8: Wacky Wings (350 Lake Street OR 688 Great Northern Road)

Wednesday, May 9: Joey’s Twisted Italian Grill & Pub (293 Bay Street, Station Mall)

Thursday, May 10: Quattro Chophouse and Bar (299 Great Northern Rd, Comfort Suites)

This marks the 40th Anniversary of Theatre Ontario, which is hosted by Theatre SMC, Quonta and Theatre Ontario from May 15 through May 20.

Bringing together theatre lovers from all over Ontario, the festival is a distinctive learning experience with adjudications, workshops, networking and play readings by Canadian writers.

It is a celebration of the best in community theatre, as the adjudicator recognizes outstanding achievements including the presentation of the coveted ‘Elsie’ for outstanding production in the province.

“Dining For The Arts” is one way to support this festival, as is getting out and purchasing tickets to the plays and the events taking place throughout the week of May 15-20.

To learn more about the plays submitted and all of the events taking place at Theatre Ontario Festival 2012, visit the website at www.theatresmc.com.

Tickets are available at the Station Mall Box Office for all plays.
