Special concert by Tamarack announced

"The Sault Theatre Workshop and Black Fly Jam are pleased to present a special fundraiser concert for the Sault Theatre Workshop featuring Tamarack on Sunday April 10th.

Tamarack the band consists of Molly Kurvink, Duncan Cameron and Alex Sinclair are, like the Tamarack tree, kind of scruffy, rot-resistant, and seem to spring back with renewed vigour every so often. The band started off several years ago with a repertoire of fine traditional
Canadian folk songs, but have since moved into writing their own Canadian folk songs. They write about loggers, miners, mill-workers, road-builders, lottery winners,
gold-seekers and crop-planters; stories of people carving their unique path into history.

Fourteen albums later, the band is still rolling across the country with their guitars, bass, banjos, mandolins and pennywhistles. The band is known for their tight vocal harmonies.

For this special fundraising concert Tamarack regulars Alex Sinclair and Molly Kurvink will be joined by
one of the original members of the band - Mr. Jeff Bird. Bird was a founding member of Tamarack, but more recently makes his musical living as a member of Canada's alt-country darlings, the Cowboy Junkies.

The concert is being held at the Sault Theatre Workshop
Studio Theatre at 121 Pittsburgh Avenue (south off Wallace Terrace onto Goulais Avenue - turn right at second corner McAllen St.)

It is a matinee performance with doors opening at 2:30. Tickets for this event are available at the Country Way Health Food Store and Superior Bakery are $15 for adults until April 6th, then $20 after. Students and Seniors are $10, $15 after April 6th.
