The Kiyoshi Nagata Ensemble wowed concertgoers with their finale in Lake Superior State University ’s Art Center on Wednesday night, April 18.

The Japanese drumming style has players swing back and forth in an elongated and strenuous stance.

It originates from the island of Miyake .

This is the Toronto-based group’s second appearance in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.
