Punkers celebrate 35 years of brotherhood, bruises and beers in the Sault

Sesame Street? Much Music? CTV? The Space Network? These are just some of the places you might have heard Toronto hardcore act Random Killing.

Celebrating 35 years of brotherhood, bruises and beers, they’ll be hitting the road in July of 2019 with dates in nine cities across the province. They will be joined on the road by Sault ste. Marie punks, Jack Spades. Toronto’s infamous Armed and Hammered will also be joining the tour for the Southern Ontario dates to celebrate their own 30-year milestone. 

The tour kicks off in Sault Ste. Marie on July 5 with local support from Destroilet and The Filthy Dadicals at the Rockstar Bar and will culminate with sets by all three bands at the 2019 Spiderfest in Meyersburg on July 13.

Random Killing (fronted by Sault ex-pat Andrew Kitely) is a veteran Canadian punk rock band from Toronto. Assembled in 1984 and briefly named Roy’s Comrades (a nod to then-attorney general of Ontario), they’ve been causing a ruckus ever since.

In 1995, their songs 12 and Johnny was a Punk from Thoughts of Aggression (Raw Energy 1994), was re-recorded at CBC Studios and released as a series of five animated videos and aired internationally on Sesame Street for over a decade.

Random Killing has performed from coast-to-coast, sharing the stage with acts such as Bad Brains, Dead Kennedys, DOA, GBH, Agnostic Front, Propagandhi, The Dwarves, The Meatmen, Ripcordz, BFG, The Dayglos and more.

Jack Spades is a five-piece punk and thrash crossover band hailing from Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. Since their debut as support for Dayglo, they have been direct support for heavy hitters like Misfits, Anvil, SNFU, Diamond Head, Bam Margera, Airbourne, CKY and more. They have released two EPs, including a split with Montreal punk icons Ripcordz and have been destroying stages and crushing pints wherever they go.
