Our girl Avril wed her Sk8r Boy Saturday in Montecito Califirnia with 100 or so close friends and family in attendance.

As has been widely reported the bride wore a Vera Wang ivory, strapless, organza, custom gown. There has been no update on who Deryck Whibley was wearing.

The internet is a-buzz with news that the pride of Napanee, Canadian rocker Avril Lavigne, 21 is about to become a blushing bride sooner than planned.

Deryck Whibley, 26, of band Sum 41 fame has been engaged to Avril for the past two years and they planned to marry this August 26 in California.

Due to reportedly over-the-top media interest for their August wedding, it appears that Avril is going to do things her usual way, her way.

The pair have allegedly sent word to friends and family to change plans and book tickets asap for Santa Barabara. (where the couple share a swanky home).

Hey! They aren't getting married here in Canada?? Hmph!

Lavigne's first single and video, 'Complicated' propelled the then 17 year old to fame. She is the voice of Heather the possum in the current animated feature film 'Over the Hedge' and is also trying out her acting chops in 'Fast Food Nation', playing the role of a teen animal activist.

Whibley's band, Sum 41, formed in 1996 in Ajax, ON and signed to a major record label in 99. Their latest offering, 'Go Chuck Yourself', was released in Canada in March.
