With only a week and a half to prepare, the work of local artist Marguerite Lippert is currently featured at Whitespace Gallery, 817 Queen St. E.

The haste with which the show was assembled is reflected in a completely charming and unconventional way with a slew of pieces, old and new, large and small, displayed on narrow shelves resourcefully constructed from cardboard and string.

Elegant, swooping strokes compose eyes, faces and figures that stare from all directions, often contrasting eachother.

Shedding the confines of frames and allowing each piece speak for itself, Lippert admits to actually removing some drawings from their frames for this show.

Lippert's exhibition, which she has appropriately entitled The Quick Like a Bunny Show is on display until August 9.

The artist will be available at the gallery daily from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. for conversation and comments.

Many of the pieces are for sale.
