Loplops Gallery-Lounge would like to extend a sincere apology to every male in Sault Ste. Marie and District.

On the evening of Wednesday, August 29, any and all female attention will be centered on the striking young man performing on Loplops' stage.

Pat Robitaille returns to Sault Ste. Marie after an extended stay in Nashville during which he kept busy recording and touring the United States.

While he is a handsome little devil, it is his musical prowess and magnetic stage presence that has garnered industry attention and keeps audiences returning time and time again.

And although he began writing and playing at the age of 10, the industry is something Robitaille has chosen to keep at arms length, opting for a more grass roots approach to his career.

“I quickly realized that having a real music career in this day and age isn’t about who you know, or what someone else can do for you," he states on his website. "Rather, a real music career is about artistic integrity. To live with myself I just had to retain control over my work product...so my only option was to pursue my career as an unsigned, independent artist.”

All has worked in his favour so far.

In June of this year, not only did he release Summer of Love, the follow up to his self-titled debut album, but he was voted into the MySpace Top 100 Unsigned Acts.

He has shared stage time with Ziggy Marley, The Tragically Hip, Matthew Good, Bedouin Sound Clash, Sloan and many other distinguished artists.

Following his Loplops appearance, Robitaile will trek off to Bala, Onatrio to play with the Sam Roberts Band.

Tickets for his August 29 show at Loplops are $5 and may be purchased at the bar or on line at www.loplops.com.
