Sault native returns for one night only - don’t Miss Glory Days on the Stage at RotaryFest, the Sault’s Summer Festival

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - RotaryFest, the Sault’s Summer Festival, kicks it into high gear this year with a free concert featuring, Glory Days, a tribute to an American musical icon - perhaps one of the greatest rock singers/songwriters of our time - Bruce Springsteen!

Springsteen mix of ballads, rousing anthems, and party rock and roll songs have earned numerous awards, including 20 Grammy Awards, two Golden Globes and an Academy Award.

He has sold more than 120 million albums worldwide and was a 2009 recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors.

This is not a show you want to miss!

This dynamic band is comprised of a unique six-piece ensemble including a full rhythm section that features two keyboardists, an excellent sax man and, of course, a very talented & experienced lead vocalist, returning Saultite, Serge Tremblay.

Growing up on Landslide Road (near Hiawatha Park), Serge Tremblay’s father introduced him to the guitar and in his early teen years at Lakeway Collegiate, he discovered rock music, and has been hooked ever since.

After learning the guitar Serge joined his first band, Shadowfax.

He then became part of Eye Witness with longtime-friends Wayne Hill, Carlo Provenzano and Jack Fuller.

They played every possible venue in the Sault and even signed with an agency out of Sudbury who made it possible for them to play all over Ontario and Quebec.

This lasted almost two years, until Serge moved to Toronto to finish his education where he continued to play with numerous bands as a hired gun and studio musician.

He eventually hooked up with two other Sault boys, Steve Mcphail and Paolo Erme, and formed Fall From Grace.

With producer Chris Russell (also from the Sault), they recorded and released "Within the Savage Garden," which sold extremely well in Europe.

Since then he has been steadily gigging with numerous bands, including Juno-nominated SonnyBoyMick.

Serge has always been told that he resembles Bruce Springsteen, and was confronted a couple of years ago about doing a Springsteen tribute act.

Knowing it would bring new challenges, he decided to give it a try.

“Springsteen’s songs are complex and moving, and it is a thrill to emulate a musical icon and a personal hero,” says Tremblay.

Thankfully, Serge decided to take on this challenge because this is the very thing that is bringing him back to the Sault.

Serge is very excited to be performing; in a recent conversation he said: “It’s such a buzz to be performing at RotaryFest after all these years away. I am proud to still call the Sault home.”

On Saturday, July 17 on the Stage in conjunction with the Arts Council of Sault Ste. Marie & District and sponsored in part by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and the Canadian Heritage in Clergue Park, Glory Days will bring all the greatest hits from Bruce Springsteen including such chart-topping favourites as “Born To Run,” “Thunder Road,” “Badlands,” “Hungry Heart” and much, much more.

Glory Days is not content to just play the songs, they also manage to recreate an authentic Springsteen “experience” by adding the little details that put Springsteen shows and songs in a category of their own.

This show promises to give an arena rock show experience unlike any other, exposing you to the most influential rock music and poetry of our time to produce an unforgettable night of pure passion and energy.
