Maple Reserve will take part in the Northland Barbershop Chorus' 56th production, 'Life on the Farm', on April 15, 2023

After a three-year hiatus, the Northland Barbershop Chorus returns to the stage for its 56th production, Life on the Farm, at the Sault Community Theatre Centre on April 15.

Life on the Farm “takes its inspiration from a series of performances by local retired auctioneer, Vernon Bailey,” says a news release from the Northland Barbershop Chorus.

The first act of the show includes poetry written by Charlie Smith of Massey, Ont., as well as a play written by Northland Barbershop Chorus director Bob Shami with assistance from Harry Houston of the Sault Theatre Workshop. Cast members include Vernon Bailey, Bob Tisdall, and Leo Moore.

The evening’s second act features guest Toronto quartet, Maple Reserve.

General admission tickets are $35 and may be purchased at the Theatre Centre Box Office, Station Mall; Hess Jewellers, Churchill Plaza; the Soo Theatre, Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; from any Northland Barbershop Chorus member; or at the door.

Proceeds from this performance go to support the Speech-Language Pathology Unit at the Sault Area Hospital.

"In 2019, the Northland Chorus reached a major milestone, with more than $100,000 donated to this cause since 1995," the release says.

Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m.
