On Saturday, June 16, the Sault Ste. Marie Canal is pleased to host the third annual Lock’s Big Picnic from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free to this family-friendly event.

The day will feature lawn games, airbrush tattoos, artisan market, and activities for all ages from the Centennial Library, Scouts Canada, Métis Nation and Sault Community Career Centre. Visitors will also be able to watch boats lock through the canal throughout the day.

Live music will happen throughout the event and Coch’s Corner will be on hand serving suds from Northern Superior Brewing and Outspoken Brewing. Food and snacks will be available from J Caroline’s, Lil’Orbits Mini Donuts, Algoma Ice Cream and Roolz Cotton Candy, and visitors are more than welcome to pack a picnic lunch.

In addition to this event, the Sault Canal will also host the second annual Parade of Paddles on Canada Day, July 1, to celebrate our great nation. Be sure to check the Sault Canal website for up-to-date information.
