Loplops has lotslots to celebrate this holiday season

Loplops Gallery-Lounge has a special month planned to celebrate its 20th anniversary downtown.

First opened in November 2003, it has become a fixture in the art, music and business community — and quite the adventure for owners Steve Alexander and Jennifer Bellerose.

“This December is very special to us,” says Alexander, in a news release. “Celebrating 20 years in this industry is something we never imagined. Looking back at everything we have done, all the friends we made along the way only makes us more excited for what’s to come”.

Over the past two decades, Loplops has hosted well over 1000 artists/bands on their stage including The Sheepdogs, July Talk, The Cowboy Junkies, The Sadies, Good Brothers and many, many more.

Opening as the first non-smoking establishment in Sault Ste Marie, they also created many events including Second Stage, The SSM Festival of Beer, Oktoberfest and the Emergency as well as collaborating on Buskerfest, Downtown Street Parties and Dionysius.

“It is a huge month for us, ending things off by bringing back our most popular event after a five-year hiatus, The 12 Musicians of Christmas,” says Alexander. “We are really looking forward to seeing everyone soon and thank you Sault Ste Marie for all your love and support."
