Théan releases diverse nine-track album, Instrumental/Electronic 01

The former South-African speedwalking champion, now Canadian guitarist-composer, Théan, has put his new album Instrumental/Electronic 01 online for free download.

The variety of sound in Instrumental/Electronic 01 draws some inspiration from the incredible solo guitar works of Derek Gripper, the legacy of Caballo Blanco, Sigur Rós, the glitch of Christian Fennesz, and the slowly evolving textural soundscapes of Morton Feldman.

Apart from Grzly Wntr, the album was recorded in seclusion across Canada, including Sault Ste. Marie and Ottawa, over the last two years, which he balanced with being a touring sideman/ arranger for Kalle Mattson.
