Laker Week got some live entertainment when up-and-rising hip hop band Modern Condition played August 25 in Taffy Abel ice arena, and raised more than $1,000 for the Dillon F. Menard Memorial Scholarship.

A Sault, Michigan group, No Free Zone, opened for the Minneapolis, Minnesota-based band.

Mod Con played from their debut album The New Reality and covered a few tunes from other bands.

"We love the energy and the fans," said member Shawn Kroll.

He cites musical ensembles such as Sublime, 311, and Cage the Elephant as major influences.

Information on upcoming tour dates can be found here or on the band's Facebook page.
