NEWS RELEASE
SUPERIOR HEIGHTS C&VS

Superior Heights is hosting its second annual December Arts Night and you’re invited Thursday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m.

Students from the visual art, dance, drama, concert band and guitar classes will be presenting work from this semester. There will be student-made art for sale and baked goods, too.

The drama class will be presenting an original play: a satire about media and our culture called Channel 12. Dance students will present work as solos, duets and in group numbers. Both the Grade 9 music students and the senior band musicians will be performing a selection of tunes ranging from musicals, television themes and classic folk songs, including Christmas carols.

Guitar students will present original songs they have written and there will be a special performance by The Voyageurs, the rock band based at Superior Heights. As well, the cast of Beauty and the Beast will sing music from their upcoming winter production.

Entrance is free of charge and donations from baked goods will be given to ARCH under the direction of program lead, Jason Zachary.

Doors open at 7 p.m. on Thursday the 7th and the event will take place in the foyer, library, theatre and cafeteria at Superior Heights C&VS.

This is a fun opportunity to celebrate the arts and to acknowledge student achievement at the Algoma District School Board. Students interested in the performing and creative arts work hard at expressing their passion and an evening like Arts Night is a chance to honour their accomplishments and enjoy the creativity and ingenuity of our city’s youth.

Students are looking forward to seeing many parents, alumni and well-wishers attend.
