Join Kathleen and Michael for Arts in the Grove

On Holy Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 3 p.m., Kathleen Radke, soprano and Michael Connell, organ will present Music for a Holy Saturday, at Willowgrove United Church, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

This is Michael and Kathleen's fourth performance in the Arts in the Grove Concert Series and promises to be an inspiring one with arias from Handel's Messiah and Bach's St. John and St. Matthew Passions.

The program also features organ music most fitting for Holy Saturday, played by Michael on the church's recently installed Walker pipe organ.

Michael is the music director at Willowgrove and performs regularly as a soloist and accompanist.

Kathleen is a busy concert artist based in the Ottawa area.

2014 highlights included appearing as a soloist before an audience of 2,000 with the Ottawa Bach Choir at the Leipzig Bach Festival and singing Handel’s Messiah in Quebec City and Montreal with La Chappelle Quebec and Les Violins du Roy under the direction of world renowned conductor, Trevor Pinnock.

Tickets are two for $35 in advance and are available from Willowgrove Office, 55 Tilley Road, telephone number 705-254-5095 or at the Station Mall Box Office.

Tickets are $20 each at the door.

Proceeds of the performance go toward the many worthy Willowgrove ministries.

Michael and Kathleen have been performing music together since they were young children.

They grew up in Sault Ste. Marie and are both former choristers at St. Luke’s Cathedral where their love of music was nurtured.

As in all their many previous performances together, this program promises to be one of beauty and virtuosity.

It is particularly suitable for the day before the Day of Resurrection – Easter Sunday.
