NEWS RELEASE
ALGOMA REPERTORY THEATRE
*****************************
Thinking of making an early New Year’s resolution to get onstage in 2020? Algoma Repertory Theatre will be presenting a dinner theatre performance of the Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy Harvey by Mary Chase (March 4 – 7, 2020 at the Grand Gardens North) and they need a cast.

Harvey is the story of a perfect gentleman, Elwood P. Dowd, and his best friend, Harvey, who everyone wants to meet. When Elwood begins introducing others to Harvey – a six-foot tall “pooka” (invisible rabbit) – his socially invested and extremely embarrassed sister, Veta Louise, and her daughter, Myrtle Mae, want Harvey gone. They conspire to commit Elwood to a sanitarium but, in a comedy of errors, Veta is committed instead. In the ensuing confusion, the doctors, Veta, and Elwood all try to figure out who really is crazy— and whether the world needs another “normal” chap, or more Harveys.

Tickets are on sale now for what is sure to be a wonderful night out. Get them online, and put them under the tree for Christmas! Everyone loves the gift of dinner theatre.

Audition information:

Tickets are also still available for ART’s holiday performance of It’s a Wonderful Life: The Radio Play. Treat your family to an early Christmas present with this beloved classic come-to-life onstage as a live 1940s Radio Play. The show tells the story of George Bailey – a generous and well-meaning man who dreams of adventure, but who has become dispirited and has lost his way. With the help of a loveable angel, Clarence, he is shown what life would be like if he was never born. This show captures the true heart and spirit of the holidays, and will be a treat for young and old.
