NEWS RELEASE
MUSICAL COMEDY GUILD
****************************
When Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Cats takes the stage this December, the cast will feature a “who’s who” of the Sault Ste. Marie musical theatre scene alongside some talented newcomers.

Robb Fisher will play the role of the wise and benevolent leader Old Deuteronomy, while stage veteran Jeannine Jefferson appears in the role of his second-in-command Munkustrap. Steven Skeggs will command attention as Rum Tum Tugger, and Christina Speers will seek acceptance from the Jellicles as the former glamour cat Grizabella. Mitchel Hopf plays the young Mr. Mistoffelees, while Carly Lukkonen will dance her way on stage as Victoria. Veteran John Fleming plays the elderly Gus, Mike Poluk is Skimbleshanks, and Skye Smith (Stewart) is Bombalurina. Emma Dingle (Demeter), Hailey Hayes (Jellylorum), Carys Hernden (Jemina), Tanner Boyle (Mungo Jerrie), Kara Colynuck (Rumpleteazer), Lauren Kinney (Jennyanydots), John Dedes (Bustopher Jones), and Isaac Withers (Growl Tiger) are the core of the featured feline cast.

The ensemble includes: Celeste Bond, Andrew Brienesse, Katelyn Brienesse, Aeva Goodship, Avery Hemsworth, Amanda Johnson, Maria Kahtava, Melissa Kahtava, Kyla Robinson, Jared Vecchio and Penny Gribbon.

Based on Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s on-stage adaptation takes a tumble through the feline world in a production that is one of the most popular Broadway shows in history.

The Musical Comedy Guild production is directed by Lucas Beaver with musical director Rony Dal Cin and co-choreographer Jennifer Avery.

The show runs Dec. 4-7 at the Sault Community Theatre Centre (SCTC) at White Pines. Details can be found on the Musical Comedy Guild website and on their Facebook page.

Tickets for the show are available at the SCTC box office at the Station Mall and also online, packaged in a subscription with tickets for the Addams Family (spring 2020). Individual tickets for MCG’s Cats are on sale now!
