Savour the Night on February 22 at Sault College

Volunteers are putting the final touches on the sixth annual Savour the Night event to be held Thursday, February 22, 2007, at Sault College.

Sault College chef training student William Butler is shown preparing a peach vanilla cream cake, with final decorations to be added just before doors open for the big occasion.

All proceeds of the evening will go towards the Sault College Scholarships, Bursaries, Awards program.

Tickets are $50 per person and can be ordered by contacting Sherri at 759-2554, ext. 2416.

After the opening reception, guests will enjoy music, appetizers, hors d’oeuvres, desserts and specialty coffees.

This year will showcase fine dining from: Bridges Restaurant at the Holiday Inn, Chartwells Impressions Catering, Gran Festa Ristorante, Resto-Bar Gliss, Riuniti, The Pavilion at Algoma’s Water Tower Inn, and Sault College’s culinary and hospitality programs.

Frank Musso, Bob Jenkins, Lindsay Pugh and Flip Slide will provide musical entertainment.

Guests can also view and bid on unique items and services at the evening’s silent auction.

Items include a GPS car navigation system, 26 inch TV, dinner packages, sports accessories, gift baskets, a flight over the city and more.

The event is being championed by Ella Jean Richter and Jim Boniferro, past Sault College Board of Governors chairs.

Their advisory board is comprised of local community leaders and college volunteers (staff and students) to ensure the event’s success.

The advisory board includes: Brian Curran, president and CEO, Public Utilities Corporation; Ron Irwin, retired Canadian ambassador; Max Liedke, acting president of Sault College; Gerry McGuire, former president, Sault College; Jorge Mitre, managing director, Tenaris Algoma Tubes; and Denis Turcotte, president and CEO, Algoma Steel.

Sault College thanks all of the volunteers, the participating restaurants, and the presenting sponsors Bell and CTV, for their continued support of Savour The Night.
