Happy 54th, Mr. Bon Soo! (21 photos)

The Bon Soo winter carnival continues until February 12

The 54th annual Bon Soo winter carnival kicked off today at its new home at the Machine Shop, and many were thankful for the warmth inside as the wind kicked up.

Entertainment included performances from Frank Deresti and Jay Case, and The Lock Cities Chorus of Sweet Adelines; the ever popular bum slides; and a fireworks display. Naturally, Mr. Bon Soo was the star of the evening as he busied himself meeting fans.

Bon Soo events and activities continue at the Machine Shop and other locations throughout the city until Sunday, Feb. 12. Those include the Kiwanis Club of Lakeshore Pancake Breakfast at the Moose Lodge on Feb. 4 and 5, the CSRA Highland Ford CAN/AM Cup snowcross races at The Yard on Feb. 4 and 5, the OLG Polar Bear Swim at Bellevue Park on Feb. 5, The Sault College annual Pow Wow on Feb. 11 and 12, and much more.
